Four months? Is that possible? I guess so since we went to the babies' 4-month check up today. All were weighed, measured, and stuck four times for their immunizations. We're all healthy and hoping to stay that way until spring when the primary risk of RSV has passed. Here are the vitals:
Sean:
12 pounds, 1 ounce (5th percentile)
Height: 24 1/2" (25-50%)
Luke:
11 pounds, 12 ounces (nearly 5th percentile)
Height: 24 3/8" (25%)
Charlotte:
12 pounds, 1 ounce (10-25th percentile)
23 3/8" (20th percentile)
The rest of the check went pretty well. Luke has been favoring/looking to one side and while we've tried to prop his shoulder to encourage looking the other way, his neck muscles have actually tightented and will require some physicial therapy to correct. Charlotte's head measurement percentile is still considerably higher than her weight and height, and she recently had a head ultrasound at the local hospital to check things out. No major findings, but the radiologist reported a somewhat higher than normal amount of fluid between the brain and skull. So, we're going to repeat the ultrasound at Children's Hospital in order to have a Pediatric Radiologist take a look and determine if it's a normal variance or something to investigate further.
As some things get easier, others get more difficult. While we spend less total time feeding them...they eat more formula faster...they eat every three hours during the day and of course are awake more and need/want to play! So, the days are quite full. The good news is that there are no more middle of the night feedings, and generally only Sean wakes us at night once or twice where we must soothe him back to sleep. The doctor said to allow one more month of that and then get tough! The day usually starts somewhere around 5 or 6 am, and they go down by 7pm. I'm usually in my PJs by 8:30 or 9:00. We've dropped the night nurse to just once a week to ensure the occasional full night's rest, and probably will only do that a few more weeks. We've found a good sitter that allows us a night or two a month for a date night or dinner with friends. So, overall life is busy, exhausting, but pretty good!
